FAQ:

Questions about Taking the leap of faith and beginning counseling!

1. What can I expect at my first counseling session?
Your first session is about building trust and getting to know you. We’ll discuss your concerns, goals, and personal history in a supportive, judgment-free space.

2. Do I have to be sober to start substance abuse counseling?
No. You don’t have to be sober to begin. Counseling can be a first step toward recovery, even if you’re unsure about quitting or still struggling.

3. What are co-occurring disorders?
Co-occurring disorders refer to when someone experiences both a substance use issue and a mental health condition, like anxiety or depression, at the same time.

4. How do you treat both addiction and mental health issues together?
We use an integrated approach—addressing both issues at once using evidence-based therapies like CBT, Brainspotting, and mindfulness, tailored to your needs.

5. Will everything I share be confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is protected by law. Everything discussed in session is confidential, except in rare cases involving safety concerns.

6. How long will I need to be in counseling?
It varies. Some clients benefit from short-term support, while others prefer longer-term care. We'll regularly review your goals and progress together.

7. Do you offer support for families or loved ones?
Absolutely. Family and couples counseling is available and encouraged, especially when addiction or mental health affects the whole family system.

8. Can I use insurance or do you offer self-pay options?
At this time, Dragonfly only accepts self pay clients and does not accept insurance. However we do offer sliding scale options.

9. Do you offer in person or telehealth session?
Great question, we offer both! When you speak with a staff member, please let us know if you would prefer telehealth or would like to have in person counseling  sessions.

10. How do I schedule an appointment or consultation?
You can call, email, or fill out our online contact form. We offer a free consultation to help you decide if we’re the right fit for your journey.
